Stu Allen - The Saturday Night Master Mix - Hardcore Hour
In the early 90's the manchester radio station Picadilly Key 103 started a weekly hardcore and house music show hosted by Stu Allen. I can remember it as far back as 93, but it could have started earlier. After a few years the Saturday Night Master Mix was started as well.
Stu Allen was a popular hardcore and house DJ and played in some of the North's best clubs, Bowlers, The Hard Dock, Mr B's (JJ's) and the legendary Club Kinetic, where he was a semi-regular and played at least once a month along side other Kinetic regulars MC's Connie and Paris, Dougal, Hixxy, Sy, Slipmatt et al.
The Hardcore Hour was the best show of its type on radio(and there wernt many), and had guest mixes from the likes of DJ Demand (dark and light) and Scott Brown. It was first on early-ish Sunday nights, 9pm-10pm, then switched to 8pm-9pm then around '98 got put in the graveyard slot of 12pm-1am and, I'm told (as I moved out of manchester) got shunted to saturday at some point
Stu Allen was the producer (and talent) of Clock, Axel F - Holding on, and also the hardcore group Visa, Fly away - All I need - Don't go away

The Saturday Night Master Mix:
The saturday night master mix was a 3 hour dance music show that started in 95-96. It was a mixture of house, techno and hardcore.
The Hardcore Hour
This show went out on sunday nights and was part of the Move show, it was called Move-95, Move-96 etc depending on the year.
The show was made up of:
- Floor Fillers - a shout and request bit
- The Hardcore Hour - an hour of hardcore, techno, breakbeat and jungle with a 40 minute or so mix
- The House Hour - an hour of house (obviously!), normaly started off with a mix
There was also the Non-Stop Music Hour which switched between saturday and sunday

I've been converting my old tapes of the shows to MP3 and theres now a fair few of them floating around on Soulseek (google it :). Theres a bit of static on some of the mixes, but only the odd bit - and I've removed most of the ad breaks.
